Free People 'The Snow Queen' Lookbook

Free People are releasing a series of Winter and Christmas themed lookbooks in the run up to the holiday season. The first one named 'The Snow Queen' is absolutely stunning and actually perfect outfits for British winters when it gets really cold and very un-Californian like in weather! With the knit jumpers, beautiful party dresses, coats, knit beanies, maxi dresses, scarves and jeans - its layering paradise and great inspiration for your own winter outfits!

Check out the full lookbook HERE and check back for more of the gorgeous lookbooks as winter fashion inspiration in the coming weeks!

Free People in the UK!

One of my favourite US clothing stores is now available in the UK - Free People! I've blogged their lookbooks and pieces from their collections for such a long time and I am so excited that they're finally in the UK. The brand is all about free spirits as stated in their target audience girl:
A 26-year-old girl, smart, creative, confident and comfortable in all aspects of her being, free and adventurous, sweet to tough to tomboy to romantic. A girl who likes to keep busy and push life to its limits, with traveling and hanging out and everything in between. Who loves Donovan as much as she loves The Dears, and can't resist petting any dog that passes her by on the street.
Although it was possible to order from them and have it shipped over from the US before, the customs fees and taxes made it really confusing and a hassle but now its all been made easy! Although the pieces are still shipped from the US, there are no nasty surprises from customs - the total billed at the checkout is the final amount and returns to their UK centre are free. They're even offering free delivery until the end of the month!

I can't wait to start buying from their site and hope in the future, they may even start opening stores across the country!

Free People October Style Muses

Created to inspire your personal style and showcase their impeccable collection, Free People have begun creating monthly 'Style Muses' to accompany their lookbooks. These are much more raw images than the look books that are still stylistic but more everyday wearable than outlandish- the kinds of looks you could rock at weekends, on nights out or perhaps even at work.

I'm really loving a lot of their pieces this season (more than I normally do and that's saying something because I always love their looks), especially the Santa Ana Fit N Flare Dress (pictured below), the Fluff Sweater and the Culver City Crossbody Bag

Check out the full collection of images and items HERE and let me know what you think of the new style muses catalog from Free People this month!

Craving: Free People Boots

As the dull fall weather starts to set in, I am craving a pair of Free People boots! Boots are an absolute staple for me whether they are ankle or tall, studded or buckled, I just think they are so practical and stylish all at once!

I am increasingly finding in high street stores that the boots are very formulaic with not much character but I think Free People boots change that! They are so full of character and can bring such life to an outfit. I honestly don't believe you can find a collection of such varied, unique looking boots anywhere but Free People!  A huge selection of their line is by Jeffrey Campbell who has designed a unique collection just for Free People, but they also stock Sam Edelman, Frye and Ash boots too!

My particular favourites are the Sawyer Ankle Boots, the Sienna Leather Boots and the Bo Ankle Boots. Be sure to check them out HERE and let me know your favourite pair in the comments!

Beach Day Outfit Guide

The beaches in Britain can either be lovely or hideous and I'm lucky enough to live near to lots of lovely beaches. With British Summer weather being so unpredictable its hard to put an outfit together for the beach - you want to be able to enjoy the sun but also be able to cover it up when it gets chilly and look appropriate when you're heading to the beach!

I'd love to hear your thoughts on the outfit in the comments below!

Free People 'Hazy Days' Lookbook

I'll keep it short and sweet because I'm ill and frankly I think these pictures speak for themselves. Saw these photos on the Free People Website and they really made me smile - hopefully they'll inspire your summer style too!

Craving: Skinny Brown Belt

For this edition of craving, I figured I would write about a type of item I really want but not specify one particular product. So.... I'm currently craving a skinny brown belt. I wear a lot of different mini dresses paired with leggings and would really love to do something a little different with them. I think having the ability to cinch in the waist with a cute belt is a great way to be able to dress up or down your outfit and to decide how formal it's going to be. Also, skinny belts can look great on jeans or high waisted shorts or chinos (I also would love a pair of these!) so are uber useful!

The Remi and Reid Plated Skinny Belt in Brown from Urban Outfitters is particularly nice - I love the texture of the belt itself and the interesting extended skinny buckle that goes with it. So often the buckles on these belts are quite simple so its nice to see one thats a bit different. The Free People Kingsbury Triple Wrap Belt is also cute with its distressed look to the belt material and buckle and I love that it has the ability to look so different each time you put it on depending upon how you wrap it around yourself.

Craving: Free People Molly Solid Buttondown

With summer briefly appearing this week, I've started looking at some of the summer trends which I want to incorporate into my own personal wardrobe.

Currently, I'm craving the Free People Molly Solid Buttondown in Light Pink. I really like the sheer trend where you can add a tank top, cami or bra underneath a semi-sheer top to create layers and add a little depth or edge to your outfit. Its also nice having a slightly oversized sheer piece of clothing and then skin-tight top beneath to show off your figure. This kind of top can be dressed up for work or a night out, or dressed down with jeans for a more casual look - its just so flexible.

The only problem with the sheer look is that if its not done properly, then it looks horrible - in the case of the the Free People Molly Solid Buttondown, I don't think that would happen because the piece itself is just so beautiful. I like the pleated detailing and the pocket on the front, as well as the Peter-Pan-esque collar and skinny buttons. The colour is perfectly feminine and very summery too.

What do you think of the sheer trend? Would you add this Free People piece to your wardrobe? I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.

Outfit Of The Day: Ashley Tisdale on May 14th

On May 14th, after a shopping trip to Barneys in LA with her Mom, Ashley Tisdale was spotted wearing a white fedora with pink detailing, a sheer Free People button down blouse, Siwy Hannah Skinny Jeans in Snowstorm, Elizabeth and James Silva Wedges and toting her blue Hermes Birkin.

I love the summer feeling to this outfit - the white and brown with the accents of pink in the bra and hat, it draws the whole outfit together. I would perhaps have liked to see her using a different bag as I'm not sure the blue works all that well with the look but I love that shes actually using her Birkin - we don't see her toting it very often and she's had it for about a year now.

Anyway, love this whole outfit! Its perfectly en-trend and so fun!

Free People May Lookbook

Free People have released their May Catalog - this month with an accompanying video shot in Miami - LOVE IT! The lookbook perfectly embodies that holiday feeling from laying on the beach to partying hard at night, and I can't wait for the sun to shine in the UK so I can work on my tan.

Check out my favourite looks from the lookbook below and view the full catalog HERE.

I Love Crossbody Bags

Perfect for festivals, a day out at a theme park, walking around town or even shopping at the supermarket, crossbody bags are just so practical. The perfect size for your purse, phone, keys and a few other essentials they're great but can sometimes be a bit clunky and not all that stylish, so I've picked a few of my favourite cross-body bags! What are your faves?

Easter Sunday Outfit Guide

Its Easter Sunday, so, for those who are celebrating I've put together a little outfit for the day. Depending on what you and your family do, I find that outfits need to be conservative on this day but that doesnt mean you can't make it fun and flirty! Don't forget that the little handdrawn hearts are my favourite items from the look! What are yours?

Happy Easter Everyone - I Hope You Have A Great Day!

Free People April 2012 Lookbook

This month's Free People Lookbook is themed around a spring roadtrip with the girls and with Coachella coming up and the Native-American bo-ho style that is featured throughout, you can't help but wish you were going too!

With fabulous shots that really feel like they are a diary of a trip, rather than a photoshoot, I think both Free People and the photographer Thomas Northcut have done a great job. With the sheer flowing skirts, aztec prints, cropped tees, distressed denim, floral detailing, face paint, dyed hair and more, I wish I lived in California and could rock them everyday.

You can view the full lookbook and all of the items featured on each page HERE.

Army Jacket Chic Outfit Guide

The weather in the UK is weird at the moment with the temperature being warm (as in 7 degrees being warm!) for this time of year. With this in mind, I thought it would be fun to create an outfit that is fun and flirty whilst being weather suitable too! I also wanted to challenge myself with the outfit, so I used the base of the Blu Moon Army Jacket and tried to make the outfit as feminine as possible from there! I would love to know what you think in the comments below!

Free People Holiday Lookbook

Lookbooks are great inspiration for seasonal fashion and I find Free People's monthly lookbooks particularly influential to my personal style. The outfits are always perfectly put together with the items a mixture of eclectic, fun and seasonally appropriate pieces. The way that the whole sites look is changed to match the lookbooks themes each season and the features provide such inspiration just makes me love this brand even more.

I really wish there were Free People stores in the UK but for now shipping items in from America and via ASOS will have to do! Some of the pieces are at the higher end of the price range for me but the items I have purchased have been worth every penny.

To showcase Free People, I've picked some of my favourite outfits from this month's lookbook - I hope these will inspire you as much as they have me!
