Revlon Colourburst Lipbutter in Macaroon

The Revlon Colourburst Lipbutter in Macaroon is a medium dusty red shade with hints of gold shimmer. Its a natural colour that is perfect for your classic day-to-day neutral make-up look, and its become a firm favourite in my make-up bag.

As with my previous experience with this range of products, the colour is a lot brighter and more vibrant on your lips than you would normally expect from what is essentially a tinted lipbalm. It stays bright for a few hours before fading to be a subtle hint on your lips. The "butter" itself is great when you apply it, as it gives your lips some shine and makes them soft, but the "butteryness" disappears quite quickly so its more like you're just wearing a lipstick. I would say though that the can sometimes apply in a pretty patchy way which can spoil your look especially if you want a subtle lip shade - as these are lip butters you would kind of expect a one swipe and you're ready type product but that's not always true.

Macaroon is a shade that is exclusive to the UK, so for any international visitors I'm afraid that its currently unavailable - to any Brits like me, its totally worth picking up. I don't know if they're quite worth the £7.99 which they retail at but I've got myself two shades now and have been utterly impressed by both.

Revlon Colorburst Lipbutter in Berry Smoothie

I've worn this a good few times now and think I'm ready to do a review of the Revlon Colorburst Lipbutter in Berry Smoothie. Getting my hands on this product was a bit of a story in itself but for now, I'll just review the product itself!

In terms of the colour, I picked Berry Smoothie. I wasn't able to test the colours in the shop but I had read a lot of reviews about this particular colour so picked it. To begin with, I was a bit disappointed with the colour for my skin tone but I think that's because I was treating it like a lipstick and not like a lipbutter. You don't need a lot of it to get good strong coverage of colour and it is natural, not too bright and something that is wearable day-to-day.

In terms of durability, the colour does stay for a good length of time for a butter. For a good few hours the colour is strong and then it fades to more of a hint. When I tested it on my skin, the colour was there for hours afterwards - even after washing my hands which shows the durability of it. The actual "buttery" part of the lipstick doesnt last long at all but it does moisten your lips and feels good. It doesnt have much of a taste or smell which is nice and totally unexpected from a lipbutter which I would expect to be packed with fruity flavours.

The packaging is nice with that Chanel-like pattern and its nice to use a lip butter which comes in packaging like a lipstick and not in packaging like a chapstick. The product is a bit liable to melting in its packaging but keep it out of the heat and it should be fine, if sometimes a little messy when you open it!

Overall, I would give this product 9/10 and can't wait to get my hands on some different shades! Which ones would you recommend?

Counting Down!

The Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters are released on Wednesday (March 14th) and I am counting down the hours until I can finally get my hands on some! I've read and watched loads from US bloggers and vloggers who have raved about them for so long and I am so excited.

The two product shades which I most want to get my hands on are "Peach Parfait" and "Berry Smoothie" as they both look really natural but I have no doubt that I'll be swatching them all and probably coming back for more products too.

What colours do you like from their range and do you think you'll be buying any? Let me know in the comments below.
