Last Night's Looks: 2012 Emmy Awards

Leslie Mann walked the carpet wih husband Judd Apatow in a Naeem Khan floorlength Spring 2013 gown with a pocketed full skirt and sheer floral beaded racer-style top. Yellow and marigold colours were particularly popular at last night's event and I think that Leslie's look was one of the best - the full oversized skirt suits her fabulously and the embellished top gives it a feminine girly edge, whilst showing of her svelt figure. I like the simplicity of the make-up and the loose up-do but don't think the turquoise jewels really suit the look - the are lovely pieces but I don't think that shade really works as an accent to this outfit.

Kristen Wiig wowed in a tea-length Balenciaga dress of light chiffon wih sheer panelling. This look appears effortless and I think that's when celebrities and their stylists have worked well together because it looks like this look is natural and so easily accomplished. Paired with a gold Judith Leiber clutch, nude heels, a natural make-up palette and a simple natural hair style, she looks glamourous whilst still having that "girl next door" edge. The nude tones are very pretty and draw attention to the hair style and darker tones of the bag which give the look a bit more edge. This, to me, is the epitome of girly, feminine glamour and Kristen really pulls it off well!

Back on the red carpet after giving birth a few short weeks ago, Giuliana Rancic showed how hard shes been working on her figure after the birth in a slinky Romona Keveza black mermaid style gown. Paired with a box clutch and intricate sandals, she looks professional (ready for E! on the Red Carpet!) but also sexy with the thigh-high slit in the dress, synched in waist and high ponytail. The hair style works brilliantly with the angular neckline and doesnt make the shoulders appear bare which is a welcome relief with so many stars recently seemingly making a stunning dress look bare and like its hanging there! What a great "back to work" outfit!!

Olympic Athletes Patriotic Nails

Bronze medal winner Rebecca Adlington showing off her Union Jack nails at her medal ceremony.

So many female athletes have been showing off their countries colours using their nails in the first few days of the Olympics - not just those in Team GB like Rebecca Adlington but across the 204 nations participating! In fact, patriotic nails are so in right now, that at the Olympic Village in London, nail artist Sophy Robson & her Nail Porn team will be providing nail services to athletes and VIP's, with different designs for each of the countries participating (they're tweeting pics of some of the best looks @NailPorn)!

Doing flag themed nails are rather patriotic but I also liked Butter London's 'Heavy Medal' Trio which includes gold, silver and bronze polishes. At £24, the price is a little steep for me but it seems like a great way to show off your Olympic support without being over the top!

Would you rock flags or medal colours on your nails? I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!

Last Night's Looks: 2012 MTV Movie Awards

Jessica Biel impressed in a white Chanel Spring 2012 dress which she paired with Barbara Bui sandals and Giles & Brother jewelry. I really love how this dress isn't your traditional little white dress - with the billowing oversized sleeves, interesting material pattern and high neck it gives it an edge. Also adding the hint of mint with the fabulous sandals and the blunt hairstyle give real contrast to the softer, figure hugging dress.

Emma Stone definitely caught my eye in a Martin Grant Fall 2012 dress with Brian Atwood's 'Grace' heels. The nude and black theme throughout this outfit work so well together whilst the shape of the dress with the V's is very flattering and the shoes with their fun heel design make her legs look endlessly long. I like the pop of colour from the make-up, the pattern on the shoes and the tousled hair which makes her look young and fun in a mature outfit.

Teen Wolf's Crystal Reed wore a printed Issa London dress from the brand's Fall 2012 Collection which she paired with Walter Steiger boots and assorted jewelry from brands including Made Her Think and La Vian. The style, colour and pattern of the dress look great and the messy up-do works well too. To me, the only downfall for this outfit is the shoes - the boots make her legs look a little stumpy and seem to draw the eye to them rather than the focal point of the dress.

Emma Watson, with her chic cropped bob, wore a Brood Fall 2012 top and matching skirt, which she paired with Tabitha Simmons sandals. That colour and messy pattern which runs throughout the skirt, top and is reflected in the shoes is so young and fun it gives the outfit a real edge to it - it seems to perfectly suit her skin tone too. I like that she's paired it with more chunky, gothic-esque cuffs - its something pretty different for Emma and I like it!

Last Night's Look: 2012 Kids Choice Awards

Ashley Tisdale wore a strapless red Kymerah dress with an up-down hem, B by Brian Atwood 'Cassaine' Heels, an Edie Parker clutch, Le Vian Earrings and a Hellmuth ring. I like how the look has been put together with the black hints drawing the outfit together, although I'm not too sure about the shoes - they're fun but I don't know if they work in this outfit (or the pink streak in her hair with the red dress...).

One of the things I really love about the Kids Choice Awards is the varied looks people go for - there's uber casual stars rocking jeans and a tee, whilst others are full glamour with floorlength gowns and heels! There are also a huge variety of stars there from TV, music, sport, film and more - people from all walks of life!

This year's looks were very varied so I thought I'd pick a few of the more interesting outfits to share with you! What was your favourite look from the Kids Choice Awards this year? Let me know in the comments!

Jada Pinkett Smith (whose husband Will Smith was hosting the event) wore a a fun neon pink Catherine Malandrino jumpsuit which she paired with a cropped denim jacket, Kimberly McDonald layered jewelry and Jimmy Choo Topaz Watersnake Platform Wedges. She looks so confident in that jumpsuit -and rightfully so, she looks fabulous in it and it suits her figure perfectly - and I like that she's paired it with a denim jacket - makes it more casual which is great!

Emma Stone always seems to dress perfectly for the occasion and this outfit is great - as ever! She wore a cream Antonio Berardi top and skirt, Alejandro Ingelmo flat shoes, Fendi clutch bag and Irene Neuwirth jewelry. The fact that she's wearing a top and skirt rather than a dress immediately makes the look more casual and she paired it with flats which takes it down to smart/casual again. Love this look on her figure with her hair down and the colour of the dress and shoes all matching - she looks awesome!

Mothers Day Gift Ideas

"On her special day, treat Mum to some sweet, moist and very moreish cupcakes. She'll love the keepsake box, the wonderful presentation, and, most of all, the taste of the finest, freshest ingredients. Each individually iced cake wishes Mum a Happy Mother's Day."

Mothers Day is coming up this month so I thought I would put together a little gift guide of cute ideas! I know that some Mum's are impossible to buy for so sometimes its nice to get a little inspiration for a unique gift. Instead of doing the standard bunch of flowers and a card, why not try something a little different? I'd love to hear what items you think are great gifts for Mothers Day in the comments below!

"Mamma Mia will look after your mum, caring for her hands and her body, and there’s even a little something in there for you, too! Mamma Mia comes in two colours – pink and orange – both of them tied with a pretty floral ribbon."

"Our bijou new box is filled with 10 of our most treasured chocolates. And when they’re gone, its mirrored compartment and ribbon-dressed drawers are perfect for keeping safe your own treasures."

Marks and Spencer's Tea For One Set
"A pretty and unique gift for your Mum this Mother's Day. This perfect little teapot and teacup for one is ideal for the Mum who loves her brew!"

The Brilliance of AllSaints

I've recently discovered the brilliance that is All Saints! If you haven't heard of them, All Saints is a UK based fashion brand for both Men and Women and is fast becoming a big player in the upper high-street. Their designs are unique and feminine with a rock chick, chic edge and I just adore so many of their pieces!

I particularly like their Spring/Summer 2012 Collection especially the tops (some of my faves are pictured above!) that All Saints describes as:
A series of directional tops including casual jersey pieces through to premium occasion embellished styles. Using the finest fabric, leather and embellishment techniques and qualities this SS12 collection encapsulates the key concepts for the season.
I am also a big fan of their range of leather jackets that All Saints describes as:
A collection of authentic biker and vintage inspired leather jackets, dresses and paneled tops, combined with signature fitted silhouettes. Using a combination of premium Italian leather, garment dyed styles and introducing new colours and vintage optics for Spring Summer 2012.
My nearest stores are Southampton and Brighton, so next time I take a shopping trip down to either destination, I'll be sure to pop in for a peruse - I'm very excited. What are your favourites from All Saints' collections? Let me know in the comments below!

Last Night's Look: 2012 Brit Awards

Rihanna wore an embellished floor length Givenchy Couture gown. The taupe backless dress featured an above-the-knee split and matching plunging neckline, which she paired with a pair of leather gloves and studded heels. I think the dress looks sleek, stylish and modern on her figure. I know that this style of glove is going to be big in Fall/Winter 2012 but its not a trend that I'm a fan of - it draws the attention away from the dress!

The 2012 BRIT Awards were held yesterday evening (January 21st) at the O2 Arena in London. The event was hosted by the fabulous James Corden and stars in attendance included Will.I.Am, Coldplay, Adele and more. I've picked a few looks from the event that I think are blogworthy (some for good reasons,  some not so good) and would love to hear your thoughts on each of them! Who's outfit do you think stood out?

Lana Del Ray looked stunning in a red off-the-shoulder floorlength gown from Vivienne Westwood. I wish she's added some edgy accessories to this outfit though as the dress itself is quite simple yet soft and needs something to make it shine. Saying that, I love the shape of the neckline and how she's styled her hair to exemplify it; and I also really like the shape of the dress itself with its flowiness and train.

Florence Welch picked a nude Alexander McQueen gown with a rise and fall skirt and tonnes of frills. I really don't like the dress mainly because its just so busy you don't know where to look - too many frills! I don't think it helps that she is so pale that in some places you kind of can't see where the dress ends and she starts... I do like the Alexander McQueen heels though, the hair is simple but it works and the tonnes of layered rings that she's worn are fab!

Jessie J opted for a sheer red lace dress with floral embroidery and matching red knickers. I generally quite like the sheer trend - its teasing but gives an edge to outfits that would otherwise be a bit simple - however on this occasion I don't think it works at all. There's a difference between having sheer parts of a dress and just wearing a net curtain and the part of her that is most covered is her carves and feet by the fullness of the train... I just don't get it!

Last Night's Look: 2012 Grammy Awards

Carrie Underwood wore a white floorlength backless gown by Gomez-Gracia paired with a black clutch and diamond jewelry. Embellished gowns were a bit of a theme of the evening but Carrie's was quite different with the ruggedness of her look rather than the sleek sequined looks of others. I love the messy hair style paired with the elegant gown, but dislike the bold black bag - she does look fabulous if a bit covered up!

The 2012 Grammy Awards were held last night (January 12th) at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. There were a huge variety of gowns, designers, make-up and hair styles on loads of stars from Adele to Rebecca Black! I've picked a few of my favourite looks and can't wait to hear what yours are!

Jessie J wore a completely embellished floor length Julien Macdonald gown with a mermaid style skirt and structured shape. She added a LuluGuinness signature black lips clutch to complete the look. The dress perfectly suits her (even if it does resemble a disco ball!) and I like that she kept her hair in those blunt bangs as it hits back to her normal look and styles whilst looking more red carpet glam.

Taylor Swift wore a nude embellished Zuhair Muard gown from the Fall 2011 Runway Collection. The high neckline and capped sleeves are something I don't think we've seen Taylor in before and it really suits her - especially with that high simple bun and quite nude make-up palette. I know she wears nude dresses quite a lot but I thought this was a different look for her and one which she pulled off well.

Gwyneth Paltrow wore a floor length Stella McCartney gown with cutout detailing and a shiny gold belt. I think the gown itself is fabulous as it gives the illusion of curves to her figure whilst still looking dramatic and sexy. For this particular look, I would love to have seen her hair up in a sleek side ponytail as I think it would have complimented the belt and shape of the dress fabulously!

Butter London Spring/Summer 2012 Collection

[From Left: 'Bossy Boots', 'Disco Biscut', 'Knackered', 'Slapper', 'Trout Pout']

The Spring/Summer 2012 Collection from Butter London is now available. I've never tried any of their polishes before (Unfortunately Butter London products are not available to purchase in UK stores) but perhaps this season will be my first try!

My favourite colour from the new collection is 'Bossy Boots' it is described as a "Light, opaque pistachio green". I don't own any neutral coloured nail polishes but with all the neon colours people are going to be wearing this season, it will be a nice change to wear a neutral. The tiny hint of green in this nail polish looks like it will really give the colour and accompanying look a lift whilst the creaminess will keep it looking grown up and professional! Hopefully I'll purchase a few colours from their website soon!

Sam Edelman Spring 2012 Collection

The Spring 2012 Collection from Sam Edelman has arrived and the shoes are as gorgeous as ever! The signature studded heels, fun patterned flats and quirky boots still remain with new colours and styles added too.

My favourite piece from the collection are the Petty boots in Putty (pictured below). The colour is stunning and the comparison between the sole colour, the inside lining and the outer fabric bring the shoe together nicely. I'm a huge fan of ankle boots and think they are a wardrobe staple during fall and spring as they are great transitional items! I'm a little disappointed that there are no full height boots on offer but I'm the Putty Boot more than makes up for it!

What are your favourite pieces from the Spring 2012 Collection? Let me know below!

Last Night's Looks: Golden Globes

The Golden Globes Awards were held at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles last night (January 15th), so I thought I would post about some of my favourite red carpet fashion from the event!

Jessica Alba chose an embellished strapless lavender gown from Gucci and added Giuseppe Zanotti heels and Bulgari diamond jewelry. This shows off her incredible figure to its absolute best with the tight figure hugging bodice matched with the short but delicate train. I also love how the embellishment is followed throughout the outfit - not just the dress. Its a very romantic, elegant look that Jessica pulls off fabulously!

Sarah Hyland went for a a figure hugging Dolce and Gabbana gown with black belt and black clutch. I adore the lace detailing of both the dress and belt as it makes the outfit look so feminine and dreamy - pairing it with that belt gives it a rockier edge which is so fun. The hair style also looks great and brings this whole elegant look together - minus the infamous wardrobe malfunction, I think it was a great pick!

As the new face of Dior, Mila Kunis chose a one shoulder Christian Dior floorlength gown and Cartier Jewelry. I love the nude inner layer of fabric which really makes the ruffling of the bodice stand out. Not all that keen on the shoulder strap (I think it would have looked great without it and with her hair down), but the  floaty skirt looks dreamy and just so fun, whilst the shape itself is wearable by so many types of figures.

Charlize Theron opted for a high-low Christian Dior gown with embellished Cartier Headband and Givenchy Heels. The ruffle in the risen skirt matched with the flowing train look stunning and I love how she's chosen to add a headband - I feel like not enough stars really use their hair to its full potential in outfits! I also like the deep V neckline - I usually HATE it in dresses but she really pulls it off well!

Last Night's Looks: 2012 PCA

The 2012 People's Choice Awards took place last night (January 11th), so I thought I would dissect a few of the most stand-out outfits from the event!

Lea Michele attended in a white 20's style flapper dress by Marchesa, Jimmy Choo heels and Lorraine Schwartz jewelry. I think this looks is interesting for Lea and actually quite daring on her part. The fringe detailing makes the dress look fun and flirty whilst the shoulder detailing makes it look mature and grown up. I love how she's added the bright pink lipstick to really finish the outfit.

Demi Lovato (pictured above) wore a strapless peach Marchesa gown with a sweetheart neckline and embellishments on the bodice, paired with a matching embellished Marchesa box clutch bag. The shape of the dress itself is flattering to her figure but with this dress in particular, I think Demi having her hair down would have improved the look as the sweetheart neckline just doesn't look right.
.

Vanessa Hudgens wore an embellished Jenny Packham gown with Casadei Heels and Judith Leiber Clutch. This outfit is less bo-ho than her usual looks but more dark and dramatic - especially with the make up where she has really vamped up her eyes! The dress does look very sexy but the neckline to me is very puzzling with the weird central fabric that goes to her collar bone.

Big Bang Theory star and PCA host Kaley Cuoco attended wearing a pale pink Badgley Mischka floor length gown with petal detailing. This dress looks fabulous on her as its very figure flattering and the natural colour, fabric and petals make it appear very romantic and dreamy. I also love how she's done her hair - kinda reminds me of the 90's Rachel hair style but it suits her perfectly.

What were your favourite looks from last night's award ceremony? Let me know in the comments!
