Outfit Guide: Back To School

Everyone wants to look fabulous on their first day back at school, sixth form, college, university or just look good after the summer when they go back to work. But as the seasons start to change again, and with British weather as unreliable as it is, you need something stylish and practical too!

I've stuck with items you can find on your usual town high street including New Look, Republic, Jack Wills, Topshop, River Island and H&M so hopefully it will inspire your first day back look and there might even be some pieces in there that you love enough to buy for your outfit! As always, the hearts indicate my favourite pieces!

Outfit Of The Day: Jessica Alba on August 16th

When out and about in Beverly Hills on August 16th, Jessica Alba was spotted in a pair of STUN Wayfarers, chunky silver necklace, the Kate Frances 'Evelyn' blazer, a plain black tee, Current/Elliott Star Print Skinny Jeans in a grey wash, the Cobra Society 'Tangier' bag and Givenchy Strappy Sandals in black.

The red sunglasses and bright blue blazer really bring light, life and colour into this outfit which I think it would have lacked without those two injections of colour. I really love her jeans and think they add a certain something to an outfit which is essentially made up of basics - literally anyone could rock a look like this, but the jeans give it an edge! The padding in the jacket's shoulders brings a bulkiness which is definately needed with this look as everything is skin tight - maybe this is the start of the return of the shoulder pad trend?

Professional for her business and meeting side but comfortable for her Mom side too - that's why I love Jessica's style because she knows what suits her and dresses comfortably yet stylishly to emphasize that!

Looks I Love: Ashley Tisdale (Part 2)

I love how Ashley can make basics look so stylish just by adding one or two stand out pieces. On this occasion, in June, Ashley wore a Current/Elliott V Neck tee, cropped black blazer and Rebecca Taylor Studded Leopard Shorts. She added Chanel Sunnies and bag, a Vanessa Mooney necklace and Sam Edelman Gigi Sandals! Perfectly summery but smart too!

In December, I profiled Ashley Tisdale as one of my style icons and showcased three of my favourite outfits from 2011 (check out the post here to see more of my fave outfits). As 7 months have passed, I figured it was about time I revisited her style, so here are my 4 favourite looks from 2012 so far!

Whites, pinks and nudes are my favourite summer looks and Ashley rocks it perfectly here! Ashley wore Free People Molly Buttondown, Siwy Hannah Jeans in Snowstorm, a pink and white fedora, Hermes Birkin Bag and Elizabeth & James Silva Wedges.

In January, Ashley was spotted leaving a hair salon wearing an Urban Outfitters Tee, Alexander Wang Leather Vest and black denim shorts. She added Chanel sunglasses, a Balenciaga Mustard coloured cross body bag and Jeffrey Campbell Seeing Stars Boots as she toted her iPad to her car!

On a night out with her girlfriends, Ashley wore a white cropped Free People pullover, a Pleasure Doing Business mini skirt and fringed Free People leather jacket. She added Jeffrey Campbell Seeing Stars boots, red Chanel crossbody bag, Soixante Neuf jewelry and Tailfeather Designs earrings.

ASOS Fall 2012 Lookbook

I'm a big fan of ASOS and spied their Fall 2012 Lookbook earlier today. I love looking at all the chunky knits and berry autumnal tones that we can rock in winter (although, we could probably wear quite a lot now in the rubbish UK summer!). The way its been shot so industrially with the sleek hair and lack of make-up is very different but gives the looks a real edge!

Check out the full lookbook HERE.

Outfit Of The Day: Jennifer Aniston on June 10th

Today's outfit of the day is pretty unexpected for me - I'm not usually a huge fan of Jennifer Aniston's style choices but on this occasion, I thought she looked fab!

When landing at Charles De Gaulle Airport in Paris last weekend, Jennifer wore a Balmain Double Breasted Milan Stitch Blazer, simple white tank, and baggy Vivienne Westwood jeans. She paired these items with a pair of Ray-Ban Aviators, the Tom Ford flap-over zip bag and some simple white sneakers.

The main thing I love about this outfit is that it would be something that literally everyone wears at some point - a simple pair of jeans, with some trainers and a tank top. Its the way she's accessorized that really glams it up - the blazer is gorgeous with the gold buttons, the scarf with its matching print is fun tied around the strap of the bag, the sunglasses look very diva-ish and the straight hair looks perfectly coiffed. This seems to me like a great outfit to travel in because its comfy for the plane and stylish for the airport runway - I love it!

Outfit Of The Day: Jessica Alba on April 2nd

Whilst enjoying a morning out in Los Angeles with her family, Jessica Alba looked fabulous dressed in blue, white and grey. Jessica wore a light wash J Brand denim jacket, grey tee, J Brand Skinny Jeans in Blue Bonnet, grey Tory Burch Ballet Flats, a white crossbody bag, Theodora and Callum Scarf and Tom Ford Sunnies.

This outfit is so simple and casual whilst still managing to look stylish. I particularly love the bold use of the blue jeans and the fun patterned scarf which really bring life to the outfit and the side braid is fun and practical for Jess as a Mom. I've been a big fan of Jessica's style for a while but I think her outfits can be very hit or miss - for me this is a definite hit.

What do you think of Jessica's outfit?

Last Night's Look: 2012 Kids Choice Awards

Ashley Tisdale wore a strapless red Kymerah dress with an up-down hem, B by Brian Atwood 'Cassaine' Heels, an Edie Parker clutch, Le Vian Earrings and a Hellmuth ring. I like how the look has been put together with the black hints drawing the outfit together, although I'm not too sure about the shoes - they're fun but I don't know if they work in this outfit (or the pink streak in her hair with the red dress...).

One of the things I really love about the Kids Choice Awards is the varied looks people go for - there's uber casual stars rocking jeans and a tee, whilst others are full glamour with floorlength gowns and heels! There are also a huge variety of stars there from TV, music, sport, film and more - people from all walks of life!

This year's looks were very varied so I thought I'd pick a few of the more interesting outfits to share with you! What was your favourite look from the Kids Choice Awards this year? Let me know in the comments!

Jada Pinkett Smith (whose husband Will Smith was hosting the event) wore a a fun neon pink Catherine Malandrino jumpsuit which she paired with a cropped denim jacket, Kimberly McDonald layered jewelry and Jimmy Choo Topaz Watersnake Platform Wedges. She looks so confident in that jumpsuit -and rightfully so, she looks fabulous in it and it suits her figure perfectly - and I like that she's paired it with a denim jacket - makes it more casual which is great!

Emma Stone always seems to dress perfectly for the occasion and this outfit is great - as ever! She wore a cream Antonio Berardi top and skirt, Alejandro Ingelmo flat shoes, Fendi clutch bag and Irene Neuwirth jewelry. The fact that she's wearing a top and skirt rather than a dress immediately makes the look more casual and she paired it with flats which takes it down to smart/casual again. Love this look on her figure with her hair down and the colour of the dress and shoes all matching - she looks awesome!

Mango Spring/Summer 2012 Campaign

To me, Mango and Kate Moss seem an unlikely match but this season's lookbook and promotional video tell a whole different story!
Synonymous with the sultry, polished elegance of Spanish style, Barcelonan label Mango brings forth a covetable collection that fuses easy-to-wear appeal with flawless European sophistication. This season, with a campaign fronted by Kate Moss, expect sharp little mini dresses, fluid tops and seductively feminine tailoring, with ‘60s chic and sports-luxe influences.
Mango's collection is fun, flirty and perfect for summer - and bonus, its reasonably priced too. I had never really looked at Mango products before, but with the spotlight that Kate Moss has put on them by being involved in this campaign - I will definitely have a rummage around their store soon!

What do you think of their lookbook this season?

Spring Outfit Guide

The warm summer weather is slowly appearing and the flowers are starting to emerge - SPRING IS HERE! I love Spring and Autumnal outfits because they are so transitional - you can wear almost any type of clothing and not be too hot or cold, you can layer, you can wear scarves and skirt in the same outfit...you can do anything!

So I thought I'd put together a great Winter/Spring transitional outfit using items from some of my favourite brands and stores! Let me know what you think of it in the comments below.

Neons: En-Trend but Unwearable?

Wildfox Vampire Smile Baggy Beach Sweatshirt - I am obsessed with Wildfox Couture, so for me that was an obvious choice. Wildfox + Neon = LOVE!

I know that Neons are going to be big this season but for me I think they can be difficult to wear without either looking too overdone or the neon disappearing into the outfit. I mean, no one wants to walk down the street looking like they've just left a rave!

I recently discovered that I own nothing that is neon... so, I've put together some items that I think are great for the neon trend and will look awesome in outfits too! What neon pieces do you love? Let me know in the comments!

Blue Life Long Sleeved Best Bum with Pocket - I think this would look fab with tonnes of layered necklaces,  rings and bracelets for that complete bo-ho chic look!

TopShop Moto Neon Pink Hotpants - paired with an oversized tee and ankle booties, I think these shorts are perfect for summer!

Vanessa Mooney Hallie Neon Wraps - Add this to a stack of fun wrap bracelets for a simple introduction to the neon trend!

BarryM Neon Nail Polish - Finally, a great way to kick some neon into your outfit without making it the focus is by adding a neon nail polish! LOVE IT!

Planet Blue Valentines Lookbook

It Valentines Day, so I thought I would share some outfit inspiration from one of my favourite brands - Planet Blue! I think their "Love Is In The Air" lookbook is quirky and epitomizes Valentines Day fashion and fun! I particularly love the sequined heart detailing in the corners of each look... almost makes it picture postcard perfect!

You can view the full lookbook on the Planet Blue Homepage!

Happy Valentines Day Everyone!

Valentines Day Outfit Guide

Its coming up to Valentines Day, so I thought I would devise an outfit themed around the occasion. This is probably not a date outfit (unless you're keeping it casual) but would work well if you've got a special day planned rather than dinner or a night-out!

I've added little hearts to the guide below to let you know my favorite pieces and be sure to let me know what you think of it in the comments below!

Oasis Bow Detail Embellished Top

I visited Oasis for the FIRST time this weekend (if I didn't say that the 20% Student Discount and sale signs didn't entice me, I'd be lying). I walk past this shop all the time when I'm in town and often look in the window but have never been in to look around before as I thought it would be a little above my day-to-day price range.

My local store (in Chichester) is quite small but the service I received was fabulous - the girl upstairs (where the sale items and dressing rooms are) helped me pick some pieces from the sale rail, advised me on the discounts and gave me lots of info I wouldn't have known otherwise (even running downstairs to check the price of something!)!

After a lot of perusing I went for the Oasis Bow Detail Embellished Top in a gorgeous dark purple. The fit is fabulous and exactly what I would expect to be my size (no going up or down like in some stores!). The shape is flattering and the inner layer of fabric fits snuggly against your body with the outer, whispy layer floating fabulously around. The bow detail on mine (and actually all of this particular top in store) is a little wonky... the centre of the bow hasn't been gathered properly so it just looks like a random gathering of embellished fabric on the shoulder. Also the button on the back will not undo - I don't need to undo it to take it on and off but... just a small thing! This top was originally £40 and I got it for £12 in the sale so no complaining whatsoever! Overall, I absolutely love this top and will definately be wearing it again!

Some of the pieces in Oasis are just stunning - these kinds of dressy up blouse type tops really call to me - and I can't wait to buy more in there!

Craving: Finders Keepers Magic Bus Skirt

My current craving is this Finders Keepers Magic Bus Skirt in Lobster from Planet Blue.

The piece itself is a high-waisted, above the knee skirt with pleating detail, and pink and white pattern all over. The pattern makes it flirty and fun, whilst the pleating means it could work in a professional situation too with a cute cropped blazer. The colour is vivid and adding the white detail makes it

With the snow across the UK this weekend, I'm looking forward to the warmth of spring and I think its perfect for summer paired with a white tank top, tonnes of layered jewelry and some sandals! I think it would also look great with leggings, boots, and a leather jacket in the spring or fall!

Unfortunately, as Planet Blue is a California based company, I won't be able to add this to my spring collection but I am absolutely loving it!

Looks I Love: Kate Middleton

During her visit to California during her recent North American tour, at the BAFTA Brits To Watch Event, Catherine wore a white Alexander McQueen gown with ruched detail and sinched waist belt, paired with Jimmy Choo shoes and clutch.

The Duchess of Cambridge, or Kate Middleton as she's known, is a fabulous ambassador for the UK. Not only is she beautiful, well mannered and seems generally interested in what other people have to say, she is becoming more and more of a style icon!

She knows what suits her tiny figure, and is able to perfectly dress up or down for whatever occasion - whether its a high class dinner or a walk in the park with the dogs! I also love how she mixes high class fashion from the likes of Alexander McQueen with affordable, high street fashion from stores like Zara!

Her wedding dress obviously was huge fashion news, but I thought I would share some of my favourite outfits! What do you think of her style?

My favourite look of Catherine's, on their way back home after her wedding in April, she wore a blue Zara dress with pleated detail and a black skinny waist belt, cropped black Ralph Lauren blazer and LK Bennett wedges!

On her way into a charity concert at the Royal Albert Hall in aid of The Prince's Trust and The Foundation of Princes William and Harry, Catherine wore a printed black and white Zara dress, cropped black Ralph Lauren blazer, black tights and suede heels.

Looks I Love: Kelly Osbourne

At the South Bank Show Awards in London, Kelly wore a Luella Floral Mini Dress, with black opaque tights, red heels and chunky earrings.

Kelly Osbourne's style has massively evolved and developed since the days of The Osbournes when she was known for her pink hair and oversized clothes. She is now known for her classic, retro looks with a rock chic, punky twist (and for her incredible figure!). Kelly has a great figure and now, always dresses to emphasise her incredible curves. I've picked a few of my favourite outfits above and below with details of what she's wearing!

At the 63rd Primetime Emmy Awards in Los Angeles last year, Kelly attended in a plum coloured J Mendel figure hugging gown with full skirt and matching glittered clutch bag and earrings.

At the Tommy Hilfiger 25th Anniversary Party during the 2010 New York Fashion Week, Kelly wore a gorgeous black and white geometric strapless min dress, cropped black blazer and matching pumps.

Looks I Love: Lauren Conrad

Running errands in Los Angeles in January, Lauren wore a pair of Chanel Sunglasses, a black and white striped cardigan, black tank top, JBrand skinny jeans, Chanel flap bag and Lanvin Ballet Flats.

I think that Lauren Conrad's style is really under-rated amongst fashion critics and bloggers. Her style has evolved massively since the days of The Hills and I think people would do well, mirroring her day-to-day looks in their outfits.

I like that she knows what trends suit her body shape and size, and dresses to emphasise this - they always looks stylish, yet practical with a quirky fun twist. I also very much like the pieces from her own collection LC by Lauren Conrad - they are feminine and reasonably priced - and Paper Crown - her new more upmarket collection.

I've picked three of my favourite recent Lauren looks above and below! Let me know what you think of her style as well as her own fashion line below!

At the Warner Brothers and InStyle Golden Globes After-Party, Lauren wore a great blue bodycon mini dress with black Jimmy Choo cage booties and a Christian Louboutin Sequined Clutch.

Whilst out in Los Angeles on January 10th, Lauren wore a fun pink pleated high waisted skirt, with black cami, cropped black blazer, Chanel Lace-up Wedge Booties and a Chanel Mini Bag.

Mulberry S/S 2012 Lookbook

Mulberry is a brand that I have been aware of for a long time but have only recently developed a love for. Their bags are stunning and unique and just fabulous in every way, so I wanted to share the images from Mulberry's Spring/Summer 2012 Lookbook. This campaign is particularly close to my heart as it was shot in Brighton which is uber close to me and a place that I regularly visit to shop and socialise! I love the traditional British feeling of the photos with the ice cream, newspapers, sticks of rock, deckchairs, sweet wrappers and of course the iconic pier - a perfect reflection of the brand itself.

What do you think of Mulberry's Spring/Summer 2012 Lookbook? Let me know below!

Craving: Elsie Belle Ti Amo Tanto

I've been an admirer of Elsie Belle for a while now after seeing them profiled on fellow fashion blog Raindrops of Sapphire last year. Elsie Belle produce gorgeous, unique and fabulously feminine jewelry perfect for any fashionista at an affordable price - especially considering you can pretty much guarantee that none of your friends will be wearing the same jewelry as you!

I have loads of necklaces but delicate pendants like this are amongst my favourites and most regularly worn because they work with so many outfits. My favourite is the 'Ti Amo Tanto' Necklace which is so small and delicate but bold within an outfit (and in its message) - I've been admiring this particular necklace A LOT recently!

I've been visiting their website regularly over the past months, admiring the pieces and yesterday, despite my huge lack of money, took the plunge and purchased three necklaces. The 'Ti Amo Tanto' necklace for myself (and as a little message to a certain someone!) and a necklace each for my sisters birthdays (although I won't post the names of the pieces here in case they read this post!).

What do you think of the Ti Amo Tanto Necklace? Let me know in the comments!
